Gabion Rock is a blue to black rough edge large format aggregate traditionally used to fill Gabion Baskets (also known as rock cages) and Mattress Rock. They are used primarily in civil construction in retaining wall, bank stabilisation, land reclamation and major landscaping applications to help resist erosion and prevent rock fall. They are a great low cost solution for retaining walls, rock walls and drainage applications, particularly around agricultural pipes. They look especially good when used around water features. In residential settings they can be used successfully to contrast plant foliage and light coloured masonry, working particularly well in modern, brutalist garden design that feature polished concrete elements with sharp architectural shapes and forms.
